About Me
Hi there! Here’s some quick information about me that led me to this amazing journey in Los Angeles: I am originally from Atwater, California and for college I attended California State University, Fresno in Fresno, California, where I majored in Public Relations. After graduating from Fresno State in 2017 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Public Relations, I was offered a full-time position as Account Manager with a local Public Relations Agency, Cohen Communications. During my two years at Cohen Communications, I managed multiple client’s public relations, marketing and social media. After being recruited for an in-house Public Relations Manager position with Ike’s Love & Sandwiches Corporate, I decided that this would be my next journey in the PR field. While working as PR, Social and Marketing Manager for Ike’s I did everything from media pitching, to email marketing and social media strategy. This opportunity allowed me to move to Los Angeles, where I decided to move on from the company to pursue a new opportunity with locally owned restaurants - The Draycott and Olivetta, as Public Relations, Marketing and Social Media Manager. After managing these restaurants public relations outreach for over 6 months, I quickly realized I missed the atmosphere of being in an agency setting with a team. After interviewing with local Los Angeles PR Agencies, I was offered a position as Public Relations Account Manager at White Oak Communications. My current responsibilities at White Oak Communications are to manage and execute all public relations efforts for a number of clients in the hospitality industry across Los Angeles, California.
During my time at White Oak Communications, I quickly became a valuable part of the team by demonstrating my drive and dedication to our clients through my work ethic. A quick example of how I exemplified drive and dedication was during the COVID-19 pandemic. Though all of my restaurant clients were mandatorily shutdown for dine-in, I was able to secure over 70+ press hits within 3 months that covered my clients new takeout and delivery initiatives. Some examples of press that I secured during this time are; Forbes, LA Times, Thrillist, Eater, The Infatuation, LA Magazine, etc.
Like many others during this difficult time, I lost my full-time agency position and had to find a way to pivot my career. This is when I met the amazing Owner and Press Agent of Make Me Hungry PR, Lisa Strangis. Lisa was eager to bring on another freelance team member to her growing self-ran agency, in September 2020 I started with Make Me Hungry as a freelance Public Relations Account Executive, managing a number of clients public relations efforts in the hospitality, food and beverage space. The clients I serviced while working at Make Me Hungry were: MINA Group Restaurants: Bourbon Steak LA, International Smoke Del Mar, Tokyo Hot Chicken, Bourbon Burger Bar, 1933 Group: Formosa Cafe, Harlowe, Idle Hour, Highland Park Bowl, Tail O' Pup, Big Foot West, Fellow Los Angeles, Flannery Beef, The Trust Building, Los Angeles Italian Chamber of Commerce.
